Hi, I have just noticed that none of my scanned media in Plex is using the 'forced' subtitle track. Can anyone help?
I manually run all my mkvs through MKVToolNix. Everything I have is setup with the correct language and tagging. Forced subtitles specifically are tagged with 'Default' and 'Forced'. Yet Plex is ignoring them.
My plex settings for languages I believe are correctly setup;
Automatically select audio and subtitle tracks - Checked
Prefer audio tracks in: English
Subtitle mode: Shown with foreign audio
Prefer subtitles in: English
Here is an example file from mediainfo as well:
Audio
ID: 2
Format: AC-3
Format/Info: Audio Coding 3
Language: English
Default: Yes
Forced: Yes
Text #1
ID: 3
Format: UTF-8
Codec ID: S_TEXT/UTF8
Codec ID/Info: UTF-8 Plain Text
Title: Forced
Language: English
Default: Yes
Forced: Yes
Text #2
ID: 4
Format: UTF-8
Codec ID: S_TEXT/UTF8
Codec ID/Info: UTF-8 Plain Text
Language: English
Default: No
Forced: No
I have tried searching around, and have edited a single movies subtitles to have language of 'undetermined', removed it from my database, emptied the trash, re-scanned it back in. It picked up that the subs were now undetermined language, but not the forced tag.
Kodi, VLC, mediainfo, and any other media related software picks up the forced tag, and works flawlessly. What I am doing wrong? Why is plex unable to pick up the forced tag? Do I really need to delete my database and start again (scared to do so and still have the same issue...)?
