I posed this question in the Plex Media Player Preview Releases category but haven't had much luck, so I figured I'd share it in the general public category.
I recently upgraded from Plex Home Theater, which I love, to Plex Media Player, due to PHT's inability to play video files with EAC3 tracks, at least on my system.
I've had no issues with audio since moving to PMP, but I continue to have an ongoing subtitle issue. In short, I cannot select a subtitle stream, as I receive a "There was a problem selecting the stream for this item" error. I receive this error all the time, no matter which video I am trying to play or even if it has multiple subtitle files.
The only luck I've had in getting subtitles to play through PMP is to rename the subtitle file so that they become forced subtitles. After doing this, the subtitles default to "On", but I then cannot turn them off, as I receive the same "problem selecting the stream" error.
I have not experienced this issue on the web app, iOS apps, Roku, or even when I go back to PHT. Has anyone else had this issue? Know of a fix?
