I hope this is good place for question like this.
I'm interested what HDD are you using mostly in your NAS solutions. Right now I'm looking to replace my ReadyNAS Pro with 6x3TB Seagate ST3000VX000 in raid 6 with Synology DS2415+.
I am considering following drives:
WD Red 6TB - quite good price/GB and I heard so much good about reliability and NasWare
HGST Deskstar NAS 6TB - a bit more expensive then WDC but they are 7200 rpm and have 128MB, as a con I've seen some movies on youtube showing that HGST tends to click and make funny noises even in idle.
I don't even consider Seagate, I had 6x1TB all died, then 6x3TB all died and have been replaced by Seagate with "certified repair" and two are dying again. I just don't want Seagate.
Now I don't want start **** storm what is better and what is worse but I'm assuming you all have your preferences, so come on and share some info :)
Thank you in advance
